We've compiled a list of the deductions that are often forgotten on the go, or you as a taxpayer don't even know about.
Deduction for driving if you have more than 24 km to and from work (over 12 km each way). The deduction can be granted regardless of the means of transportation you use. So you can get a mileage deduction even if you use a bicycle.
You can also report double trips, for example, if you meet twice in one day.
You can get a charitable deduction when you make a donation of money or gifts to charitable organizations, associations and institutions.
This also applies to contributions paid via MobilePay. But remember, the deduction is only given if you take a screenshot of the payment, send it to the recipient of the donation and ask them to report the amount to the tax authorities. Few people know this, and even fewer can be bothered.
Many people take advantage of the handyman deduction. But did you know that you can also deduct the cost of window cleaning, cleaning, gardening, etc.
Does your employer not cover work-related travel expenses or pay tax-free allowances? Then you can actually get a deduction for food, accommodation and small necessities.
You can deduct origination fees if you have taken out a loan with a term of less than two years, but you must report the amount yourself. Unlike interest expenses, deductible loan costs are not reported by the lender.
If you pay spousal support outside Udbetaling Danmark, you can get a deduction for the amount, but you must report the amount yourself on your annual tax return.
If you pay through Udbetaling Danmark, the deduction is automatically included.
However, you and your partner must be separated, divorced or have moved apart before you as the payer can deduct your spousal support.
