Annual reports must be submitted on time - or it can be costly

Are you a business owner and your financial year ends on December 31? Then the important deadline is approaching: By June 30, 2025, the annual report must be submitted to the Danish Business Authority.

Failure to meet the deadline can lead to both fines and, in the worst case, forced dissolution of the company. So now is the time to make sure everything is in place.

What applies - and who needs to submit?

If your company is an ApS, A/S or other company with an accounting obligation, the annual report must be submitted digitally to the Danish Business Authority via the Accounting System no later than 5 months after the end of the financial year.

This means that companies with a fiscal year ending December 31, 2024 have a deadline of June 30, 2025.

What happens if you don't make it?

If the annual report is not submitted on time, it triggers:

A fine for the management (not the company). The fines typically start at DKK 500 per day and can quickly grow large.

A deadline from the Danish Business Authority of 8 days to submit the report.
If the deadline is also not met, the company can be sent for compulsory dissolution in the Probate Court.

This is not just a formality - it has consequences both financially and for the company's future.
